Bangladesh’s New 50-Member Cabinet Includes 41 Fresh Faces

Following the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed a government with an absolute majority. After nearly 19 years, the new BNP Cabinet comprises 50 members, including 25 Ministers and 24 State Ministers.
This Cabinet features a significant number of newcomers, many of whom have never held ministerial or state minister positions before. Some are serving as Members of Parliament for the first time and have been appointed directly to the Cabinet.
Among the 25 Ministers, 17 are new faces, making up 68% of the ministerial team. All 24 State Ministers are also new appointments. Even Prime Minister Tarique Rahman joins the Cabinet for the first time, serving as both Prime Minister and Defence Minister.
