Lauren Bennett, Voice of ‘Party Rock Anthem,’ Dies at 36

British singer Lauren Bennett, best known for her appearance on LMFAO’s global hit song “Party Rock Anthem”, has died at the age of 36.

The news was confirmed by her former group G.R.L. through an emotional statement shared on Instagram on Monday.

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us,” the group said.

The cause of her death has not been disclosed. According to coroner records, Bennett died in Meopham, Kent, on May 29. An inquest into her death is scheduled to be held in October.

Bennett gained international recognition after featuring on LMFAO’s 2011 chart-topping hit “Party Rock Anthem.” The song spent six weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and was later ranked among the most successful songs of all time by Billboard. Its music video, in which Bennett also appeared, has received more than 2.5 billion views on YouTube.

In 2014, Bennett joined the pop group G.R.L., a reboot project inspired by The Pussycat Dolls. The group included Paula Van Oppen, Natasha Slayton, Simone Battle and Emmalyn Estrada. Their biggest hit was “Ugly Heart”, released in 2014, and they also collaborated with Pitbull on “Wild Wild Love” that year.

G.R.L. disbanded in 2015 following the death of member Simone Battle, who died by suicide.

Apart from her group projects, Bennett contributed vocals to soundtracks for films including “Date Night” and “21 Jump Street.”

Her former bandmates remembered her as a talented artist with a warm personality.

“We will forever cherish the love, laughter and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,” G.R.L. said in its tribute.

Bennett was also part of the group Paradiso Girls, created by choreographer Robin Antin as a European spin-off of The Pussycat Dolls.

Former bandmate Aria Crescendo paid tribute on Instagram, writing: “RIP Lauren, my sister, my best friend. I can’t believe you left us. We spoke a week before it all happened, and I could not imagine that would be the last time I would be able to talk to you. Love you and miss you forever.”
