Follow These Guidelines to Prevent AIDS

Many people are aware of the severity of AIDS. However, awareness has still not developed across all levels of society. When a person is infected with the HIV virus, the symptoms that appear in the later stages are collectively known as “AIDS.” Everyone should know which lifestyle habits increase the risk of this deadly disease and which symptoms require immediate medical attention.
To Prevent AIDS:
* Be faithful to your partner. Extramarital relationships increase the risk of AIDS.
* Use condoms. Condoms are a good practice not only for preventing AIDS but also for avoiding other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Remember, individuals infected with any other STI have a higher risk of contracting AIDS.
* Maintain normal sexual behavior. Avoid abnormal sexual practices (such as anal sex) that can increase the risk of HIV transmission.
* Never reuse a syringe or needle.
* Avoid using someone else’s razor or blade. When visiting a salon, ensure that the tools are properly sanitized. If using someone else’s scissors for haircutting, be careful to avoid cuts.
* When blood transfusion is necessary, only seek help from hospitals or blood banks where the blood is properly screened and tested before use.
When to See a Doctor:
If HIV or AIDS is detected early, symptoms can be managed with treatment. Early detection also reduces the risk of unknowingly spreading the disease to others. Watch out for the following suspicious symptoms:
* Fever lasting more than 10 days
* Chronic diarrhea
* Fungal infections in the mouth or genital area (such as thick white patches on the tongue or inside the mouth, or whitish discharge and itching in the genital area)
* Sores in the mouth, throat, genitals, or anus
* Frequent infections (such as repeated fever, cough, sore throat, or diarrhea)
* Unexplained weight loss
* Swollen lymph nodes in the neck or armpits
* Unexplained bleeding from any part of the body (such as small spots under the skin) or red rashes on the skin (rash without itching)
* Constant unexplained fatigue
If you notice any of these symptoms, it is essential to consult a doctor immediately.
